In Search of My Father... Walkin’ Talkin’
Bill Hawkins

written & performed by W. Allen Taylor
directed by Ellen Sebastian Chang

This one-man show recalls W. Allen Taylor’s adventurous search for his absent father, Bill Hawkins, the first black disc jockey in Cleveland, Ohio. With musical interludes celebrating the cultural legacy of black radio, the 90-minute show follows the inspiring and heartwarming journey of self-discovery and destiny as Taylor performs a range of richly defined characters. IN SEARCH OF MY FATHER...WALKIN’ TALKIN’ BILL HAWKINS received the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics’ Circle Best Solo Production award in 2006.
